Traffic/Players

Traffic at Bodog is good and is growing very fast. There is normally plenty of traffic in ring games up to the $5/$10 no limit holdem level and up to $30/$60 for limit holdem. Bodog has peak cash-game traffic of over 4,000 real money players at peak hours. The traffic is at its greatest at the lower stakes and the games vary from standard to very loose, frequently with a viewed-flop percentage reaching upwards of 50%-60%, which is high. Over in the tournament rooms you will normally find over 15,000 real money players during peak hours. The site hosts load of tournaments with buy-ins as small as $1 and going all the way up to several hundred dollars. The biggest weekly tournament is its $100,000 Guaranteed which takes place on Sunday nights. Its a $100 $9 tournament that normally attracts over 800 players. Win this and you can expect to take down $25k. All their tournaments are well-populated, fast and have good structures but its fair to say the competition gets smarter with the bigger buy-ins. Other tournaments where players can win big for small buy-ins are the WPT and WSOP satellites. With these for a small buy-in you could find yourself playing in one of the biggest live tournaments in the world. In terms of skill level you should find that as most of Bodog's players have been recruited through the sportsbook and casino a large portion of them are relatively easy to beat.

Game Variety

Bodog has excellent game variety and offers all variations of Texas holdem, Omaha, Omaha hi-lo, seven-card stud, seven-card stud hi-lo and five-card stud. The games vary between no limit, pot limit and fixed limit. Full table games, short-handed and heads-up tables are all available. As with all rooms the game that is most popular is no limit holdem, played to small and middle stakes.

Graphics/Software

Bodog offers full-feature software that runs fast and smooth with good playability, and many good options to customise your experience. They have all the usual functions such as player notes, table statistics (such as viewed-flop percentage and average pot but not hands played per hour) and your own stats too (how often you see the flop, win percentage etc). Bodog software supports play at three tables simultaneously, with the player always seated at the centre. The software also supports play at all tables in either full size or mini view. The graphics are clean and classy, with nothing overbearing or needlessly fancy. Uniquely the site doesnt use the classic table design - instead you will find yourself appearing to float on a big red carpet. Another feature is the option to watch a mini view of a specific table while simultaneously browsing around in the lobby. In addition, during a hand your cards will be shown (but only to you) even after you have folded so that you can see whether you would have hit the nuts. As well, all sounds and animations can be turned on or off in the software settings which is good. Overall, Bodog's software is very playable, has nice graphics and offers a great playing experience.
